What to know
- U.S. counterterrorism chief Joe Kent has resigned over the war, saying Iran “posed no imminent threat to our nation” and blaming the administration for following Israel’s lead.
- Israel says it killed Ali Larijani, Iran’s top security official, and Gen. Gholam Reza Soleimani, the head of the Revolutionary Guard’s Basij militia, in airstrikes overnight. Iran hasn’t confirmed the deaths.
