When it comes to the Musks, the Epstein files are a family affair.
As Elon Musk tries to quell questions that the latest release of Epstein documents has raised about his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, his younger brother is doing the same.
Much like the X owner, Colorado-based entrepreneur Kimbal Musk appears numerous times in the latest document dump, which includes direct emails between Kimbal Musk and Epstein several years after the latter pleaded guilty to a sex crime involving a minor.
The Musks have not been accused of criminal wrongdoing with regard to Epstein’s actions.
In this email from 2012, for example, the younger Musk uses a winking emoji in a message to Epstein, writing: “Sorry you missed the party. It was a blast. Sorry to miss lunch on Sunday. Had to fly back and nurse myself back to health.”
There’s also an email from later that year in which Elon Musk tells Epstein to “convince” Kimbal Musk to come meet them in the Caribbean. Another email exchange from the following month apparently shows Epstein inviting the younger Musk to “come relax” on his island for a few days, though it’s unclear whether this trip ever came to fruition.
One of the more eyebrow-raising documents involving Kimbal Musk comes from this email thread, in which he thanks Epstein and former Bill Gates adviser Boris Nikolic — whom I’ve written about previously — for introducing him to someone named “Jennifer.”
“Jeffrey and Boris, many thanks for connecting me with Jennifer. I believe you both played a role,” he wrote, adding a smiling emoji. Nikolic warned the younger Musk that he “better be nice to Jenn” because “Jeffrey goes crazy when someone mistreats his girls/friends,” adding: “And Jeffrey and I better have a special treatment at your ceremony ;).”
Musk’s reply began:
Jeffrey: Message received wide and clear. 😉
