The Nespresso Vertuo has a rounded construction and a removable 40-ounce water tank with a scalloped design on the outside, giving it a retro aesthetic. It brews single and double shots of espresso, and 5- and 8-ounce cups of coffee, using the brand’s compatible espresso capsules (it comes with 12 to help you get started). It heats up in just 25 seconds and has an auto shut-off feature after nine minutes of inactivity. After brewing, it automatically ejects each capsule and stores up to 17 of them at a time before having to throw them out, according to the brand.
