Today’s installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.

* While several recent polls in Georgia have shown Donald Trump with a modest lead, the latest Fox News poll found Vice President Kamala Harris leading the Republican nominee in the state, 51% to 48%. (Click the link for information on the survey’s methodology and margin of error.)

* The news was better for the former president in Arizona, where the latest Fox News poll found Trump ahead, 51% to 48%, while a USA Today/Suffolk University poll showed the GOP nominee with an even larger advantage, 48% to 42%. (Click the links for information on the surveys’ methodologies and margins of error.)

* Why were so many Republicans pushing for Nebraska to manipulate how the party allocates electoral votes? Because, according to an NBC News report, internal GOP polling shows Harris with a sizable lead in Nebraska’s Omaha-area congressional district.

* Speaking of the Cornhusker State, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is making a new investment in support of incumbent Republican Sen. Deb Fischer’s re-election campaign in Nebraska, fueling speculation about independent challenger Dan Osborn and the surprising strength of his candidacy.

* At his latest press conference, Trump was asked whether he intends to withdraw his support for North Carolina’s Mark Robinson. The former president responded by claiming he doesn’t know “the situation” surrounding the right-wing gubernatorial candidate.

* That said, Virginia’s Republican governor, Glenn Youngkin, withdrew his support for North Carolina’s scandal-plagued lieutenant governor this week.

* And a group called Evangelicals for Harris launched a seven-figure ad buy, aiming specifically at Christian voters in key battleground states, arguing that Trump’s words and behavior contradict Christian teachings.
