Prime Day officially starts on Jul. 8, but if you’re eager to shop, you can get started right now. Early deals are available on the retailer’s site, giving Prime members the opportunity to save on Dyson vacuums, Breville espresso machines, Vera Bradley bags, Garmin smartwatches, Shark hair tools and more. Wondering if early deals are worth taking advantage of? As someone who’s covered Prime Day for six years, I can say they absolutely are. The discounts you currently see online aren’t likely to get better once Amazon’s mega sale begins, and shopping early ensures you’re able to buy a product before it sells out.

That said, not all early Prime Day deals are actually worth buying. To help you find the best ones, I rounded up a handful that are highly rated, at least 20% off and at their lowest price in at least three months. I’ll frequently update this list leading up to Prime Day.

Best early Prime Day deals

These teeth whitening strips are beloved among the NBC Select staff, including updates editor Mili Godio. “I’ve been using them for years, and I really see a difference when it comes to how white my teeth look,” she says. “I used them religiously before my wedding, and I got a ton of compliments. They securely grip onto my teeth, so I don’t have to worry about them sliding off when I have them on.” There’s 44 strips included in this box, which is enough for 22 treatments — 20 are standard 45-minute treatments and two are 60-minute express treatments.

Once you plug this Fire Stick into your TV’s HDMI port, you can enjoy your favorite shows, movies and music via streaming services or cable. It comes with an Alexa Voice Remote, and you can bring the device with you on trips to use in hotels or rental homes.

This rechargeable electric toothbrush has all of the features dentists told us to look for while shopping: a pressure sensor, a two-minute timer and brush head change alert. You can also choose from three cleaning modes. The toothbrush comes with a travel case and two extra brush heads.

The Echo Pop is a mini Bluetooth speaker you can play music, news, podcasts and audiobooks from. It’s also equipped with Amazon Alexa, which lets you use voice commands to ask the virtual assistant for weather and traffic updates, set alarms and timers, and control compatible smart home devices. I have an Echo Pop in my bedroom; you can barely see it on my dresser because it’s so compact.

I swear by my Samsonite luggage, which holds an impressive amount of clothes thanks to its internal organization system and never breaks down despite being beaten up during my travels. This set comes with a hardsided carry-on and a medium checked bag. Both suitcases have built-in TSA locks, expandable storage, 360-degree spinner wheels and adjustable handles.

I love using this kitchen gadget to make fresh popcorn at home or the office. There’s a built-in cup on its lid to help you measure kernels, and you can also put butter inside so it melts over your snack. The glass, dishwasher-safe popper has a 3-quart capacity and a wide mouth — once you remove the lid and let it cool down, it doubles as a bowl.

This cordless stick vacuum automatically adjusts its brushroll speed after it detects what type of floor you’re cleaning, and it gives you up to 50 minutes of power on a single charge, according to the brand. It has a HEPA filter that traps dust and other allergens and LED headlights to highlight dirt. You can convert the appliance to a handheld vacuum and addthe included attachments to reach areas like stairs, under furniture and above cabinets.

These dishwasher-safe, 2.85-cup containers have two internal compartments to separate foods, and they’re made from a clear, shatter-resistant material so you can always see what’s inside. The containers come in five with leak-proof lids that have vents underneath their latches — that means you can cover your meal in the microwave to avoid splatters.

The Nespresso Vertuo Plus, one of our favorite single-serve machines, lets you make 5 or 8-ounce cups of coffee and single or double espresso shots. It has a 40-ounce removable water tank, so it’s easy to refill, and a built-in container that holds up to 13 used pods. The machine comes with a starter set of Nespresso capsules so you can use it immediately.

Prime Day is a great opportunity to replace anything you’ve been meaning to, but never get around to — for me, that’s my decade-old, stained, ripped oven mitts. I’m committed to tossing them in exchange for this pair from KitchenAid. They’re covered in soft, ribbed silicone that’s grippy, heat-resistant up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and water-resistant, according to the brand. The oven mitts also have a cotton cuff, so they feel soft against your skin.

How I found the best early Prime Day deals

All of my recommendations above are based on NBC Select’s previous coverage and reporting. I also included products the NBC Select staff tested, including Wellness Award and Giftable Tech Award winners. I ran each deal through price trackers like CamelCamelCamel to ensure products are at their lowest price in at least three months. All the products I recommend are highly rated with at least a 4.0-star average rating from hundreds of reviews.

Why trust NBC Select?

I’m a reporter for NBC Select who has covered Amazon Prime Day since 2020. In addition to writing about the best deals, I also wrote about what’s included in a Prime membership, the history of Prime Day and what to buy and skip this year. Prior to Amazon’s flagship sale, I previewed a list of deals from the retailer and sorted through them to find worthwhile sales you should know about.
