President Donald Trump faced his biggest setback yet as he moved to pause a plan for massive tariffs for 90 days.

Still, the pause was only temporary, and Trump left in place staggering tariffs on China and a 10% baseline tariff that leave the U.S. with its highest tariff rate in decades.

Here’s a mostly complete look at what else Trump, his administration and the GOP-controlled Congress have done over the last seven days:

• Paused a set of massive tariffs on nearly every country in the world for 90 days after the bond market roiled.

• Posted on social media that it would be a “great time to buy” shortly before announcing the pause, raising questions about insider trading.

• Faced pushback in a trade war with China, which raised its tariffs on U.S. goods from 84% to 125%. Then Trump announced a (likely short-lived) exemption on smartphones and computers.

Lost at the Supreme Court, which said the administration must “facilitate” the release of a man wrongly deported to El Salvador. In a meeting with El Salvador’s leader, Nayib Bukele, Trump also said he wants Bukele to take in as many criminals “as possible.”

Heard that the Department of Government Efficiency had lowered its predicted cuts from $1 trillion to $500 billion to $150 billion.

Pledged to secure a $1 trillion budget for the Defense Department, which would be a record.

Withdrew a nominee to run the Bureau of Land Management after her post-Jan. 6 criticism surfaced.

• Passed a budget in the House that paves the way for cuts to Medicaid and food stamps while giving tax cuts to the wealthy.

• Passed a bill in the House that could make it harder for women who have taken their husband’s name to vote.

• Considered seeking a consent decree that would put Columbia University under ongoing federal supervision.

• Signed an executive order targeting another law firm (the ninth so far), notably one that represented a voting machine manufacturer that sued Fox News.

• Directed federal agencies to investigate two former high-ranking officials who questioned his 2020 election denial.

Supported restitution payments for Jan. 6 defendants whose convictions were wiped out by Trump.
