Bad Bunny will headline the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, the NFL announced during Sunday’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers. Super Bowl 60 will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Feb. 8.

The 31-year-old Latin superstar, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is known for hits like “Me Porto Bonito,” “Dákiti” and “MIA.”

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history,” Bad Bunny said in a joint statement with the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation.

“Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL,” he added in Spanish, which translates to “Go tell your grandmother we’re going to be the Super Bowl halftime show.”

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl appearance was a major decision for the artist, who told i-D magazine in September that he opted to do his “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” (“I Don’t Want to Leave Here”) residency at home in Puerto Rico instead of holding concerts in the U.S. out of concern for the Trump administration’s aggressive deportation agenda.

“I’ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the US[.] But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the US… People from the US could come here to see the show,” he told the magazine. “Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world. But there was the issue of—like, f---ing ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

Bad Bunny, who has won three Grammys, made a brief guest appearance at the Super Bowl in 2020 in Miami, when Shakira and Jennifer Lopez co-headlined the halftime show. That same year, his third album, “El Último Tour Del Mundo,” became the first Spanish-language album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

He is also scheduled to host “Saturday Night Live” for the second time on the show’s 51st season, which premieres Saturday.
