Minn. lawmaker shot in 'politically motivated assassination,' another wounded

Minnesota House Democratic Leader Melissa Hortman and her spouse, Mark, were fatally shot Saturday morning. A second lawmaker, State Sen. John Hoffman, and his spouse were also shot at their home in eastern Minnesota, officials said. Gov. Tim Walz said the attack appears to be "targeted political violence." The assailant remains at large and reportedly impersonated a police officer with a uniform and a cruiser. A manhunt is underway.
