The Senate has rejected an effort to undo President Trump’s sweeping tariffs on most U.S. trading partners. The vote was 49 to 49 after two senators who would have voted for the resolution did not show up for the vote. Those two senators are Republican Mitch McConnell and Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse.
