* After an apparent would-be assassin was taken into custody on Sunday, Donald Trump’s political operation immediately got to work sending out fundraising appeals. A day later, those fundraising efforts continued.

* Speaking of the Keystone State, voters in Philadelphia are poised to fill two vacant state House seats in special elections, though in both instances, Democratic candidates are running unopposed.
* The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee this week announced a $25 million investment in programs to directly contact voters across 10 states.

* Speaking of the Granite State, the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire apparently thought it’d be a good idea to celebrate the prospect of political violence targeting Harris.
* It’s National Voter Registration Day.
* Four years ago, Scientific American, which began publishing way back in 1845, did something it had never done before: It endorsed a presidential candidate. At the time, the magazine backed Joe Biden. This year, for only the second time in the magazine’s 179-year history, Scientific American has done it again, throwing its support behind Harris’ candidacy.
